Welcome to The Journal.

The Journal: Who and what is it for?

Why start a blog and name it the Journal.

CoffeeKansasCity is not going to be a simple blog. It’s my personal coffee notebook that I want to invite you into.
I will be posting “entries” about current great coffees around the city. I dont want this to be a simple “blog” as some think it will be, but i want to view it as a journey in coffee.
Coffee is always changing. There are new coffees, diffrent roast profiles, coffees in and out of season, and more.

Do I have to be a coffee expert to understand this?

I want everyone to read my Journal.  Some readers will be coffee lovers, and some may not like coffee at all! You might be new to the craft coffee scene or you might be a local kc coffee professional. You might be a visitor to Kansas City, just trying to find great places to go to. If so, this blog is for you.
My point in this is, I hope a large variety of people will read my posts and updates. I want make it as inviting and inclusive as possible to all persons. All are welcome to read my content!

The Journal Entries

What type of content can I expect?

Hmmm well thats a good one. Here you can expect content based around one thing: Coffee
As time goes on, I will be looking to grow the topics and range of posts.
First, I am looking to focus on the foundations of coffee.
This could look like some of the following:
What is Coffee?
Basic home brewing methods: Explained
Roasted coffee: Knowing some of the differences in types of roasts
Coffee Processes: Know what coffee you are drinking
Coffee Origns: Explaining the differences between countries coffee comes from
and more

How often do you plan to post?

Well, starting slow, I will try to post every week or two. As I develop more ideas and vision for this, I’m hoping to up the amount I post. I don’t really know how often, and how much will be posted. We will see with time 🙂

At the top, you say that others will be joining you and posting as well. What does that look like?

You will just have to see what I have planned!
OK, fine, here’s the scoop.
1st, I’m not 100% sure what it will look like, as the entries written will be from others in the community, and they will be writing their on their own. It of course must be involved with coffee in Kansas City, but with their own flair and creativity.
and
2nd, some entries will be co-developed. This would look like someone invited by myself to help write a entry on a specific topic or number of topics.

Well, that’s all for now. Heres to the beginning of The Journal.
